Why wouldn't you use video

Statement. Not question. Kid gloves are off. I’m not gonna sugar coat this anymore. If you’re having problems engaging, attracting, exciting, educating, informing, connecting and quite frankly winning hearts and minds of candidates, my first question will be: Are you using video?
There’s no need to make the reasons up… loads of people in the marketing world talk about why video content is king. So let me use their wise words and reframe into HR and employer brand terms to break it down:
1. Videos grab attention. The more you can make your employer brand stand out, cut through and make candidates spend time with you, the better.
2. Videos show things in action. They literally bring your employer brand to life in a way that text-based content can’t even scratch the surface.
3. Videos connect emotionally. Candidates can see, hear and feel your employer brand.
4. Videos garner trust. Over and above just connecting, you can build relationships with candidates.
5. Videos tell stories better. You can bring more depth, emotion and insight to your stories. Some stories are better told with video, than using text.
6. Videos are easier to consume. That’s not to say that there’s not power in text and articles, but people love to watch videos. And by people, I mean candidates!

And if you need some data to back all that up, then consider what video is doing for mainstream marketing and branding… and how YOU could enjoy the same impact for your employer brand.
